Independent Schools

Richmond House School

170 Otley Rd, Leeds LS16 5LG, UK – 0113 275 2670

Richmond House is an exceptional school. I’ve been involved with RHS for several years now and, as a parent, I couldn’t be any happier - more so, neither could my children. There’s such a feeling of warmth around the place, and always smiles on faces whether it's the children or members of staff you’re talking with. The teachers work very hard to obtain the best from their pupils and it shows in the results they obtain. The Physical Education programme is second to none, as is the opportunity for outdoor learning and other non-curricular activities. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this school to any parents considering an independent school in Leeds.

Great school, I had some fantastic years there.

Moorlands School

Foxhill Drive, Weetwood Lane, Leeds, Leeds LS16 5PF, UK – 0113 278 5286

Froebelian School

Clarence Rd, Horsforth, Leeds LS18 4LB, UK – 0113 258 3047

My son attended Freoebelian and I have nothing but praise for the school with him receiving a scholarship at Woodhouse Grove. My daughter is now thriving in her last year at the school. You can see why it is the top independent prep school in Leeds and why the school is No. 9 in The Sunday Times Top Prep School listing.

good school

Broadgate Primary School

North Broadgate La, Horsforth, Leeds LS18 5AF, UK – 0113 258 2685

I absolutely love Broadgate school! I have two children at the school one in Reception and the other in year 2. Prior to school both my children had never been to nursery so I was sure that they would find leaving me hard when they started school, which they did but the way the school and staff helped them through those difficult few weeks was amazing. My daughter was so shy and wouldn't really talk to the adults or in large groups of friends at the start of school but now she is asking to read parts in the special assemblies they have! Both my kids have made great connections with staff and made great friends. Their academic progress is also something we are very happy with but to us the emotional side of things was even more important and their emotional wellbeing is always addressed and the staff have great awareness of how the children are feeling and how settled they are. There is bullying in every school and on the rare occasions that this has happened it has been taken seriously and dealt with quickly and effectively. The school has a great sense of community and the staff really care about you and your children. No matter how small a problem is the staff are always there to listen and to help. My children are happy and they feel safe and secure at Broadgate. When children are happy and settled their learning excels, to me the work staff do to enable children to feel this way is a great foundation for their lifelong learning.

This is a fantastic school. Brilliant, caring teachers, a lovely and very effective Head and great pastoral care. The children are all very polite and its rare to see any bad behaviour. it’s obvious that they’re very caring and concerned about one another, reflecting the ethos of the school as a whole. There’s a lovely community feel at Broadgate and in the four years my children have attended the school I can’t really fault them.

Ireland Wood Primary School

Raynel Gardens, Leeds LS16 6BW, UK – 0113 267 8032

Dr B tutored me throughout my A level course. His knowledge and ability to teach are outstanding. He made all the lessons invaluable and adapted his style of teaching to suit my needs. Dr B is able guide through any of the various modules within the A level course always to an excellent standard. He is flexible in his approach and makes maths enjoyable. Therefore, without hesitation, I would absolutely recommend him to any student of any ability level.

Dr Barekati is an excellent tutor who has put in a great deal of his time to improve my grades and understanding of maths. His time and effort has gone towards my A* in maths A level with a score of 586/600. His teaching style is incredibly flexible and meets the needs of his students therefore I can't recommend anyone better for private tuition.
